Careers Provision
Careers Provision Rationale and Intent:
Intent: Provide an Outstanding careers experience for all pupils, regardless of phase, in line with the Gatsby Benchmarks.
Rationale: Educational progression is driven and enabled by longer term career aspirations and opportunities. Social capital impacts this greatly. We want to expand all our pupils' social capital so that they have the best understanding of their career opportunities possible so that they can make truly informed decisions about their longer term career aspirations.
Careers Provision Action Plan
Key Priorities:
- Student engagement: Offer engaging and inspirational/aspirational opportunities for students, from EYFS to KS5, to engage with and experience (if appropriate) our careers curriculum across a broader range of employment sectors as possible, in line with the Gatsby Benchmarks.
- Parental engagement: Ensure parents are engaged in their child’s career opportunities and are up to date with current pathways into their child’s chosen career/career interests.
- Student support: support students, with a variety of tools, to prepare for the next stage of their education, including but not limited to, formal examinations.
Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) at our school:
We are in the first year of establishing our formal careers offering and we are working towards offering all of our students the we work with, from EYFS to KS5 and beyond, access to a comprehensive, impartial careers programme, in line with the Gatesby Benchmarks. Our offering combines exposure to, and experience of, a wide range of different careers in a wide range of different career sectors alongside access to a Careers Advisor, where relevant, through our strong links with the local Connexions Service. Being based in two World class hospitals located in the borough of Camden, and being a part of our local Careers Hub, gives us access to an incredible array of employers and opportunities and we are working to build strong links with as many of these employers as possible so that all of our students can benefit from the opportunities this will bring regardless of when, and for how long, the student is with us.
