Rewards

At the hospital school we reward our pupils for many different things, including the work they do in lessons, how supportive they are of each other, if they meet their targets or if they have done something fantastic but most of all we reward our pupils if they are giving their best effort..  We use sticker charts, certificates and most importantly spoken and written praise to show how much we value their efforts.

House Points

There are four houses: Savannah, Tundra, Hedgerow and Wetland.  All long stay or recurrent pupils will be placed in a house and can earn house points.

You can earn house points by filling your sticker charts.  You will get a sticker each day you do your best in one of our lessons.  Filling a sticker chart will also earn you certificates and prizes.

Pupils with 10 stickers earn a house point and a prize

Pupils with 25 stickers earn a house point a Bronze certificate and a prize

Pupils with 50 stickers earn a house point a Silver certificate and a prize

Pupils with 75 stickers earn a house point a Gold certificate and a prize

Star of the Week

We also have Stars of the Week.  Our teaching teams pick one primary and one secondary student who has been working particularly hard each week.  These students will receive a certificate and Star of the Week pencil.

Work of the Week

One student’s work is selected each week to be our work of the week.  This piece of work is displayed on our website and display board outside the schoolroom.  This student will receive a postcard and Work of the Week pencil.

Values

We also recognise the values of Friendship and Determination and certificates are given to students who particularly demonstrate these values each week.  These students will receive a certificate and their names will go on our website and display board outside the schoolroom.
