Keeping your child safe online

With constant changes in technology, and children’s access to it growing, it is essential for parents to know how best to keep their children safe online.  There are plenty of resources to support parents with this and we have listed a few below.

If you have any concerns or would like further support then please speak with your child’s teacher or contact the school on hospitalschool@gosh.camden.sch.uk.

We include teaching about internet harms and safety as part of our PSHE curriculum.

NSPCC - provides lots of tips to help you keep your child safe online.

Government Website - support for parents published in response to the Covid pandemic.

Think U Know - covers all ages but has specific advice for under 5s as well as general advice (including how to use parental settings on a device) and also guidance on reporting concerns about online content.

Internet Matters - for general advice and also specific guidance on privacy settings for the most popular social media channels (Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and more).

Safer Internet - for general information, tips and guides, including one specifically about safe use of different devices (phones, laptops, games consoles, tablets and more).
